i feel an appropriate way to end the year, is to go out with a bang and blog one of my all time favorite weddings; meet maggie and matt. i remember coming home and telling my husband “if we could do it all over again, i have some fabulous new ideas” … unfortunately, he wasn’t having it, even if they were amazing!
i arrived at the w hotel to begin the day with getting ready shots of maggie and her bridesmaids and that is when i saw it out of the corner of my eye. her dress!! no one in the wedding party had seen it and as she unveiled it, it looked like an art piece straight out of a museum. she then proceeded to tell us that if it looked at all familiar, chelsea clinton wore the same vera wang gown down the aisle, a stunning masterpiece! not to dismiss her gorgeous kate spade shoes and tiffany jewelry from her groom to be. her bridemaids were incredibly heartfelt and welcoming. they wore the same j.crew dresses (except in navy) that maggie wore to her groom’s dinner the night before; such coordination. i also couldn’t ask for a better groom + fun groomsmen to entertain us all day/night. we were blessed with wonderful locations to shoot, each with light that was was like butter, melting my photographer heart.
i believe her dad said it best when he explained a fathers emotions just before walking down the aisle … “your entire life with your daughter flashes before your eyes, the whole story … moments before you take your first steps together down the aisle.” precious.
