minneapolis engagement photographer | allison + mickeli

allison and mickeli are dear friends of ours and i am completely flattered that they asked me to capture their big day in june!  they are such wonderful people with contagiously positive attitudes.  i hope everyone in life has people like these two … they add so much joy to every situation!  i am beyond happy these two found one another and are about to start a new chapter together.  their engagement shoot this fall was so much fun as the two of them are naturally playful together.  i love the props they contributed and the fact that they braved the cold lake water for some great shots!  congrats you two, can’t wait to capture your wedding!

minneapolis wedding photographer | kelsey + phil

kelsey and phil’s both attended luther college, but didn’t meet until 4 years later through mutual friends; it’s funny what destiny has in store for us. their wedding was the first time i photographed a wedding at the cedarhurst mansion and it was quite a delight. i’d highly recommend this location for any upcoming wedding venues. kelsey and phil had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour in the lush gardens and an indoor ballroom with fabulous walkway’s to the terrace. their wish for their wedding photos was to capture a comprehensive story so they could look back and remember everything and everyone from their big day … needless to say, it has been over a year since i photographed their wedding and as i was looking through their images, i felt as if it were just yesterday (as you’ll see below with the insane amount of photos i chose to blog); their day was beautiful … below is their ‘comprehensive’ story!

As the staff here, we always work behind the scene and don’t get to see the whole event folding. But these photos here are excellent; they show so much about our beautiful old house, the bride, the groom and everyone else! THANK YOU for sharing, See.

minneapolis engagement photographer | michelle + mike

michelle and mike wanted their engagement pictures to capture the beautiful fall colors minnesota has to offer.  when i challenged them to think about where they wanted to take their engagement photos, they told me about how they spend a typical saturday … they enjoy venturing down to the local farmers market after a stop to grab coffee and then michelle normally drags mike into a few shops.  they love the outdoors and sports (particularly football) but are very much ‘small town people’ … michelle then clarified for me when she says ‘city’ she means ‘small town’ as both her and mike both grew up in towns with populations near a mere 10,000.   and that was all it took, i had the perfect little lake town in mind, offering the small town feel they were looking for with a nearby lake and open field.  they were also incredibly flexible and shot later in the day close to sunset, the most beautiful time to photograph!  congrats you two, i can’t wait to celebrate with you later this year!!

minneapolis wedding photographer | sarah + dan

sarah and dan had a beautiful wedding this past summer at mill city museum; and even though there was rain, it didn’t stop us from getting fabulous shots. my very favorite part of their day was the “best man” speech. sarah’s son, dylan made up their entire wedding party and completely took me by surprise with the worlds best speech … and i have heard my fair share of speeches. but never have i have witnessed someone so young, stand in front of the room with such bravery and poise and have the entire crowd rolling in laughter. tears were rolling down my cheeks as i couldn’t stop laughing (sorry dan, i know you were at the expense of many jokes). congrats you three, may you have your true happily ever after!

minneapolis children photographer | ashlyn

i photographed ashlyn and her mom, stefanie last year for the first time (yes, i am going backwards in blog posts again) and was honored when i received an email asking for round 2! the difference between this year and last year’s shoot is we added their dog sydney to the mix with an urban backdrop (which i love). ashlyn and sydney have grown very close recently and as their dog is approaching old age, we wanted to ensure we documented their friendship. ashlyn was a dream child to photograph … a few sticks of gym, picking “bluberries” and all the lipgloss a girl could ask for and we were set. i included some of ashlyn’s many lipgloss application shots … such a diva, she is soooo cute! as a mom to a little boy, i love boys … but she makes me so excited to meet our new little girl. and yes, her lipgloss is in a hot pink cell phone!

stefanie purchased a large print from this shoot to display in her home next to last years. as soon as i get a photo from her, i will share the end result with you.
